As you can see I did have some 'help' with my 'Sunburst' quilt. Fluff decided one evening that it was hers and no-one else was going to get near it.
As you can see it's done - and I feel a bit sad because I thought it would take longer and I've got nothing to hand quilt. But unlike the last HUGE one this one measure approximately 61 x 50 inches. It was machine pieced and hand quilted in the ditch with YLI variegated thread - called Sunset...
Thanks to all of you for the good wishes you sent for both my birthday and anniversary. DH is now very keen to read any comments on the blog as he seems to think they're all going to be about him. LOL.
Thanks
even this looks huge to me! it's beautiful - the colours are so vivid. Congratulations. Fluff is lovely too...
ReplyDeleteDear DH,
ReplyDeleteWhat a lucky guy you are to have such a talented wife. She's made you such a beautiful new quilt! And after that wonderful little surprise you gave her, it looks as though you might deserve it!
XOXO,
Anna
P.S. Sarah -- That quilt IS for DH to share isn't it??? ;-)
It looks fab..and I love the picture with your cat...so sweet.
ReplyDeleteHi to the DH too...Hello :)
I really like your skinny part borders in the oranges in opposing corners - very effective - will have to squirrel that idea away for future reference
ReplyDeleteIt looks brilliant and the quilting so neat! You will have to get started on the next one asap or perhaps a few then you'll not have the gap between them. I have so many WIP's and UFO's that I never have any gaps :o)
ReplyDeleteMy DH doesn't read my blog, he gives 'design'/colour advice, but that's it. I'm not sure if this is a good or a bad thing LOL
Lovely quilt, Sarah Jayne! And that was fast, too. I've got a quilt in the works but it'll be months, I think, before it'll be finished.
ReplyDeleteI did a quilt in these colors too, and I find them to really "pop". Your finished quilt looks beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThe back is just as beautiful as the front! I love the way you've got the colors flowing across the quilt blending in and out with each other. In my mind this is the perfect fall quilt. I think one reason I love fall is that the golden, red, and orange leaves look so beautiful against the deep blue of the sky.
